February books

3. Helping Children Understand the Gospel by Children Desiring God: I think I might have already read this awhile back due to my highlights but it was so good to be reminded of the truth of Scripture. This is a very quick read that is divided into 3 parts, Preparing Children for the Gospel, Presenting the Gospel, and 10 Essential Truths. The last section is a devotional you can use with your children. I loved these quotes.

"(Children) love to hear the stories of the Bible and sing songs about Jesus -- many young children are even eager to pray to receive Christ. Sometimes this is genuine saving faith, but often it is only a spiritual interest. We need to discern the difference between spiritual interest and saving faith." pg. 11

"A child without rules or discipline will have trouble embracing the Gospel. He has not learned that rules are non-negotiable, that there are consequences to actions, or that authority must be respected. Why would he ever believe that God is sovereign over all His creation?" pg. 13

"Children will never love the atoning work of Christ on the cross if they don't understand how much they need a Savior." pg. 14

4. Becoming God's True Woman by Nancy Leigh DeMoss: Our small group girls are going through this book together. It has been an awesome reminder to so many of God's truths on Biblical Womanhood. It is applicable for single or married ladies, which I loved. There are also lots of great questions in the back that we have used for discussion. Definitely worth your time reading.
