30 weeks and counting...
Pregnancy Highlights for the Week:
How Far Along: 30 weeks
Fruit/Veggie: The weight of a cabbage
Size: 15.7 inches, 3 pounds
Baby changes: Chandler is about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs about 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face.
Best Moment this week: I had my first shower this week at my school. The 1st grade team planned a sweet shower for Ashley and I. We are so blessed to work with such an amazing group of people. (I'll post pictures of the shower soon.) It was very cute.
Gender: precious BOY, Chandler Owen
Movement: He is moving still moving around alot. I am starting to be able to see my stomach move as he is moving around. It is still very surreal to me that all that is going on inside me. It feels like the right side of my ribs are bruised from all his pushing!
Food/Drink Craving: ice water, milk, BBQ, crunchy tacos
Sleep: I have still been waking up and tossing and turning. I'm sure that will be the normal for rest of the pregnancy.
What I am looking forward to: being done with school (only 1 more week), starting water aerobics, working on Chandler's room
Symptoms: I am feeling much better! Some sneezing and stuffiness but overall I feel good. I have changed temperature over the past week or so. I am ALWAYS cold but now I am the hot one in the house. Here comes the summer! Hints why I am taking water aerobics as my form of exercise. :)

29 weeks
Pregnancy Highlights for the Week:
How Far Along: 29 weeks, last week in the 20’s!
Fruit/Veggie: The weight of a butternut squash
Size: a little over 15 inches, 2.5 pounds
Baby changes: Chandler now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. His bones are soaking up lots of calcium these days. This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited into his hardening skeleton each day. My uterus is now about 3 to 4 inches above my belly button.
Best Moment this week: I had 2 days off this week. Monday I went to the doctor and then Friday I got to rest and catch up on rest, work on some sewing, and do some house work. Cody also painted Chandler’s room this week.
Gender: precious BOY, Chandler Owen Groves
Movement: He is moving a lot. One night it felt like he was literallly doing flips in my tummy, it felt really crazy. Some days I have felt really good and others have been more uncomfortable.
Food Craving: Really nothing has stood out this week. I got to have a steak last weekend and that was great! Most food sounds good to me right now…lets get real. Except for red sauce in spaghetti or something…that hasn’t sounded good my whole pregnancy.
Sleep: Sleep has definitely decreased this week. I have been waking up A LOT more and tossing and turning. I wake up thinking I should be getting up and it is only 1 or 2 in the morning. The bed is awesome though!
What I am looking forward to: being done with school (only 2 more weeks), working on Chandler's crib bedding, hopefully soon. Here are pictures of the fabric.
Symptoms: I am trying to fight off another sinus infection right now. Hopefully it doesn’t come but it is sure looking like it. I have had a sore throat, congestion, sneezing. I have been doing my nasal rinse (Heather would be proud!), and taking Zyrtec D so maybe it will go away!

His bottom is in my RIBS!
I had a doctors appointment today (this is mostly all boring news but I wanted to blog about it for my pregnancy record).
Chandler is head down and his bottom is up in the right side of my ribs. I mostly feel this ALL day long. I guess it gets stronger as he pushes his bottom up. She said his legs move around so they can be down by his head or up by his bottom. That explains the fluctuating moving on my left side. His heartbeat was 140bpm. Oh how I love hearing his little heartbeat.
All my doctors appointments are booked now and all on 1 sheet of paper! I am now officially preregistered at the hospital and our childbirth class is coming up soon. He is going to be here before we know it.
I told Cody yesterday that I don't want this pregnancy to be over because I am afraid he will grow way too fast. I mean it was only 22 weeks ago that he was the size of a poppyseed. He rolled his eyes and laughed at me. He said he will grow even faster out of the womb. I don't know how you mom's do it. That is crazy!
The best part about the appointment is that somehow I got out of there without peeing in a cup. :)

28 week update
From 13 weeks...
to
28 weeks
Pregnancy Highlights for the Week:
How Far Along: 28 weeks, this is the first week of the 3rd trimester, crazy! I had my glucose/iron test on Thursday. The mysterious orange drink was a little intimidating but it was actually not bad at all. It tasted like sugary Sunkist. My glucose level was 94 and they said anything below 140 was good and my iron came back 34.6 and she said they like it to be above 34 so that I just need to keep eating food with lots of iron.
Fruit/Veggie: The weight of a Chinese cabbage (I looked for one of these at the store, no success!)
Size: 14.8 inches, almost 2.25 lbs
Best Moment this week: My husband is so amazing. He has made 2 trips to IKEA in Houston, put together 2 bookshelves, 2 dressers, our bed, 2 nightstands, and painted our room in the past few days. Not to mention work full time and take care of our yard/house. I am so blessed. We REALLY are beyond the point of needing pictures for our blog of our house. Our bedroom is almost finished and Chandler's room is next.
Cody's parents are coming this weekend maybe we can use their camera and take pictures of the house to post!
Gender: precious BOY, Chandler Owen Groves
Movement: He is still moving alot. I hardly feel him during the day at work but I can always feel some movement at night.
Food Craving: All of the sudden I have been craving milk (which is really funny because I am not a milk drinker at all), BBQ, still loving Root Beer
Sleep: We got our new bed this week!! It is AMAZING. I can tell a big difference in the times I used to wake up tossing and turning and now. I can't make it through the night without a restroom break. I try but no success. I'm sure it will become more frequent in the weeks to come.
What I am looking forward to: working on Chandler's nursery, we bought paint this week and we have decided on fabric for his crib (pictures to come)
Symptoms: I have started to have "pain" under my ribs on the right side. It is off and on and not really painful just really uncomfortable. Also, I have been dizzy somewhat this week and REALLY tired. I keep falling asleep everyday afterwork. I think it might be my iron level so I am working on my Beef and Spinach diet. :)

27 weeks
How Far Along: 27 weeks. Well, week 26 got skipped because I was late to do it and I got a stomach virus and was sick all weekend. I know this picture isn't great and our room is a mess but I figured it was better to have a picture this week than nothing! :) We are still working on the new camera! I can't believe it has already been 27 weeks. Last week of the 2nd Trimester!
Fruit/Veggie: The weight of a Cauliflower (got any good recipes for cauliflower?)
Size: 14.5 inches, almost 2 lbs
Baby changes: Chandler weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended. He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. (I was a thumb sucker, we will see) With more brain tissue developing, his brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were to be born now. Supposedly I any tiny rhythmic movements might be a case of baby hiccups, which is common but only last for a few minutes.
Best Moment this week: I am off 2 days this week, one to catch up on house stuff from this weekend and the other to spend time with my mom, aunt, and Miranda! :)
Gender: precious BOY, Chandler Owen Groves
Movement: He is still moving alot. Cody got to feel him moving alot the other night. He seemed to move more when I got sick....maybe I could just feel it more because of the lack of fluid?
Food Craving: this weekend all I was wanting was Gatorade....I am gaining my appetite back but still no cravings really
Sleep: I started trying to sleep with a body pillow. It makes it easier but I still haven't made it the whole night without it ending up on the floor! :) We should be getting our new bed in next week. I am SO EXCITED. My back has really been hurting from ours. We have a really low bed and it is only a mattress so the new bed should be a big change.
What I am looking forward to: this weekend. My mom, aunt, and one of my best friends, Miranda are coming in Friday/Saturday to spend time with me!
Symptoms: Mostly just back pain....I know he has alot of weight to gain but he feels so HEAVY!
