16 weeks

Sorry that I don't have a tummy picture this week. I tried a couple times to take one and they didn't turn out well. I would say that more people have been mentioning "the bump" this week. I was going to try to do it today but I have a very congested head, watery eyes, and a runny nose so that wouldn't be a good picture either! I keep getting "your having a girl" comments...I think only 3 people have said boy, 2 of them are my parents.

Check back soon for a gender vote/name suggestions.

A Week Late: 15 weeks

We had an appointment on Tuesday, February 16 with Dr. Appleton. She just checked the baby's heartbeat (155 bpm) and everything sounded good. I saw this on another blog so I thought I would try to fill it out each week to help remember what was going on each week.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 15 weeks

Fruit: Naval Orange

Size: About 4 in, 2.5oz

Baby changes: The baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. The fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though I still can't feel it.

Best Moment this week: Valentine's Day was amazing. Cody bought me new pots and pans for my NEW kitchen. (pictures coming soon)

Gender: Not yet.. March 15 (4 weeks)

Movement: not yet

Food Craving: Taco Salads, Fresca, Orange Spice tea

What I miss: wearing my favorite jeans

Sleep: pretty great still, not enough (of course)

What I am looking forward to: finding out the gender!

Symptoms: some stretching/cramping in my tummy

Happy Leftover Valentine!

One of my sweet little 1st graders younger brother who is in Pre-K came up to me Monday with this...

Of course I was surprised. Happy Leftover Groundhog Day/Valentines Day to me! :) What a cutie. I asked his sister if he really made it for me (because I think his teacher felt left out) and she said yes he made it last night for you.  *Please take note of the yellow hairclip in the back!

Some responses from the kids...

So, I finally told my 1st graders this week that I was going to have a baby and of course this news spread quickly to other kids around the school. Here are some of their responses to the news:

-One of my kids from 2 years ago said, "Mrs. Groves one of your kids said you got pregnant, that true?".
-"Do you have to eat baby food since you have a baby in your tummy?"
-"I think you should name him Cutie."
-"How's yo baby doin' Mrs. Groves?"
-"Man Mrs. Groves your baby is growing fast!"
-"Why can't you just have that baby right now?"
-"What chu gonna have Mrs. Groves?"
-Also, I was telling them about the ultrasound pictures and one of Ashley's kids said, "Oh yeah I know, that is where you see your black baby!"
-"Last night I told my mom, dad, grandma, aunt.... you wuz havin' a baby Mrs. Groves"

-And of course the..."how do you have that baby?"....and one kid saved me (without knowing) and said, they cut a big hole in my momma's tummy to get that baby out!

They are too funny! I wish you could hear them saying these things. It makes it so much better.

11 and 13 weeks

This is our 11 week ultrasound. We were actually at the 12 week mark but our baby measured 11 weeks and 2 days so my due date got pushed back a week to August 10. It was about the size of a lime this week! It was unbelievable how much it had grown since the 8 week ultrasound.

I am at 13 weeks this week. Our baby's teeth and vocal cords are forming. It is the size of a small peach. I know you can't see much in this picture but I am definately experiencing the in-between stage! My normal clothes don't fit but maternity clothes are still a little big. :) I told my kids this week at school. They had lots of questions and stories of course. They tell everyone we see in the hallway. They even tried to tell Miss Apel :) (she acted as if they were in the know!).

Thank you for praying for this precious baby. I am so thankful for what the Lord has done/is doing in my heart especially in regards to fear. He is so faithful!
